I found this part of the article amusing ‘the curators, who are trying to move interest from Henry VIII and his ill-fated wives to the more peaceable rule of the Merry Monarch, Charles II’. It certainly wasn’t a very peaceable start with the continuing Jacobite uprisings and all! And I’m not sure that the Great Plague of Lonodn was considered ‘peaceable’ at the time either! 🙂

True I suppose. So I guess it depends how loosely you want to define the term ‘peaceable’.
