Air and rail disruptions in western Europe today

This from Deutsche Welle – Düsseldorf airport strikes will result in delays and cancellations.

And from the Beeb – heavy snow is causing problems at Frankfurt airport and even on Eurostar. Mind you, what they call heavy snow over there is, like, five inches. Yikes. At my house, that doesn’t always require shoveling. Time to order some snow plows and extra road sand, folks!

More snow info from Deutsche Welle.

Hah ha! In the UK simply catching sight of a snowflake on the horizon leads to everything grinding to an immediate halt! 😉

Untreated roads are always a hazard, even here. I’m glad I can stay home when we get dumped on. I remember driving near Oxford several years ago during a light snowfall; the road was surprisingly slick – the rental car had regular tires, not snows. Think spring!

Tell me what you think!
