From London Independent – Matisse at the Tate Modern thru early September 2014. More Matisse at the Musée d’Art Moderne in Paris and a Matisse trail in Collioure in French Languedoc (aka French Catalunya). This last one sounds intriguing – see info at the bottom of the link.
All these from Dutch News – a missing Van Gogh is recovered in Spain. The Rijksmuseum’s plans for expansion announced. Medieval gold and silver coins found in Utrecht on the site of excavation for a new museum (perfect spot!). More looted Nazi art may have turned up in, among other places, the Rijksmuseum (oops!). And finally, a telescope from the early 17th century has been dug up in Delft.
Rembrandt’s largest painting is back at the Rijksmuseum.
From France 24 – mark your September 2014 calendars for the reopening of the Picasso museum in Paris after a five year reno job.
